Quad Cities Chess Open 2019

Last October 26th and 27th the Quad Cities Chess Open 2019 was celebrated at WIU in Moline. The event consisted of three categories, in which 45 players participated doing their best effort on each game. Alex Richter from Cedar Rapids and Hersh Singh won the open, Fidel Vallejo from Moline won the U1400 and Hector Sanchez-Melendez from Iowa City won the Beginners. Cash prizes were given in the Open and U1400 categories; while a chess clock, chess sets and medals were given in the Beginners category. WIU hosted the event and provided pizza for everybody, and soft drinks and snacks were sponsored by Hola America Newspaper. Eric Vigil, international arbiter directed the Open and Tony Britton directed the U1400 and Beginners.
