Eleven players played in the Des Moines Homeless Shelter Open I that was held at the Willow Creek Baptist Church in West Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, May 21, 2016.

 

Joseph Cheng-yue Wan received $70 for winning the tournament. Valeriy Kosokin was awarded $55 for placing second in the tournament. Abhyudaya Shukla got $42 for winning the Under 1600. Omkar Chandrakant Hawal accepted $18 for placing second under 1600. Congratulations to Joseph Cheng-yue Wan for being a victor in the tournament, and I want to thank all players for playing.

 

When the cash prizes were handed out, there was eighty dollars remaining after the cash prizes. Milind paid $15 to the IASCA for $1 per player and the USCF for the rating report. Milind contributed $35 and donated a check for $100 to Central Iowa Shelter & Services.
