2023 Iowa Scholastic Individual-Play Team Championships
Iowa Individual-Play Team K-12 Chess Championships. Three Sections: Elementary (K-6), Middle School (6-9), and High School (9-12). You will not play other students from your school/team. The top 4 individual scores of players from each school will be counted toward your team score. See below for player/team eligibility and exceptions. |

Grades K-6: Team Trophies for the Top 6 K-6 Teams, Top 3 K-3 teams Top four players on each winning team will receive an individual trophy. Grade K-9 & K-12: Team Trophies for Top 3 Teams. NEW: Medals for the Top 3 scores in each grade. Players can win both individual and team medals. |

Team Eligibility: Teams are of 4 students attending the same school; Students must attend the same school with the following exceptions: 6th Graders in Middle School may play for their former K-5 school. Up to two K-6 students may play for middle school and high school Teams/Sections. Up to two middle school students may play for their high school team.
Students will play individual games in a Swiss tournament format and will not play students from their own school. The top four scores from each team will be counted for prize eligibility. K-3 students not counted in the K-6 team trophy will count toward the K-3 team trophy. K-3 students may not count toward both. |
